Bloom & Prosper

Hey Beautiful Lady,

Oh life, oh life when will you Bloom!

Oh life, oh life when will you Prosper… said, No Flower

Have you considered the process of those beautiful flowers you admire in nature? No? Well neither did I until I tried to create a garden.

I adore all pretty flowers, but I never pondered on its process.

Me and a good girlfriend started visiting nurseries and to my surprise, the species of flowers were endless! They come in variations of the rainbow. Some of the flowers are bright and bold, but some are dark and striking.

I have noticed some are delicate and small, but there are some that grow enormous, unique and rough. To be honest some aren’t pleasing to my eyes, oh but their striking uniqueness makes them so inviting!

Well, I decided I wanted to replicate a beautiful garden at my home; something similar to the magnificent gardens I’ve seen on HGTV.

Ask any gardener and they will tell you, “great gardens don’t happen over night.”

OK, there’s reality, and then there’s me.

I began purchasing my seeds, soil and fertilizer because I’m determined to have a masterpiece that everyone will adore. I can just feel it!!

Did I want it for me, or for show?

It’s time for the work…

Well, these tiny seeds have to go into the ground covered in dirt and bugs. Did I mention, I dont like either one?

The seed package shows a picture of a full bloomed seed. I’m excited! This seed has so much potential inside of it, but if only I can endure the process.

I had to get low to put the seed into the ground. This process make you humble yourself because you are forced to get to the ground without a care of who’s watching you in the process.

You don’t put on your best clothes because you will get dirty and hot.

You have to water consistently even when you’re hot and tired. I forgot to water for 2 days and I came home to my new blooming flower dying in the scorching sun.

I want to Bloom & Prosper, but am I dedicated to the work?

All of this hard work and dedication and I still don’t have my beautiful botanical garden that I envisioned.

Disapointment, anxiousness, comparision and doubt flood my thoughts.

Why aren’t they blooming and prospering right now?

Flowers bloom in different seasons, so check the timing. Are you expecting a spring bloom in the summer season?

According to Ecclesiastes 3:1,
Everything has its own time, and there is a specific time for every activity under heaven:

What does it need to come forth? So check the instructions for your specific flowers. Don’t be tempted to follow someone’s instructions. They may have something different blooming

There are some flowers that grow in Full Sun.

There are some flowers that grow in the shade.

A few species of flowers even live in water.

Remember…

Sometimes we look and admire people, but we don’t consider their process.

She’s blooming and prospering, but it didn’t come overnight.

She may look different, but she’s unique for her purpose.

She may be an extrovert and need full sun.

She may be an introvert and does well alone.

She may flourish her best under constant movement of the water.

Under the right conditions, perfect timing, persistence and dedication… You will bloom and prosper.

Don’t get angry or envious if your life doesn’t look like your neighbors.

Ask yourself, are you really dedicated, consistent, committed or disciplined to handle it!

Check your priorities against all your desires.

Trust God’s purpose, timing and process for your life!!

With time, patience, commitment and dedication you will eventually bloom to who you were created to be, and share your gift with others.

Walking, but distracted!

Hey Beautiful Lady,

Have you ever been walking along a path and your cellphone rang and  you lost the tempo of your walk? Did you say no? Well ask the people that are watching you from on the sideline.  The other day I was walking behind a person who was walking pretty fast as though a goal was in mind. The phone rang and the upbeat walk became slower. The person was no longer ahead of me, but now,  the person was side by side with me. Did the person’s conversation slow them  down or did the enthusiasm to get to the goal change?

The person probably didn’t realize their pace had changed !!!

I noticed and wondered, has that been me… The awful truth was Yes.

Have you seen people texting and walking? I have seen people walk into people, walk  into walls, and objects. Did they plan to slow their movement, probably not. They were so distracted they didn’t notice people in their Path. Was the message so important they forgot the  plan? How could you lose track of your surroundings and not look up ?

No, I would never make something or someone  more important than my Purpose.  I would never lose track of what’s around me. Uh, the ugly truth is that I have done it before.

This is so much deeper than a cellphone!

According to Webster,
Walking is to move along on foot : advance by steps
Distraction – a thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else.

Ladies, let’s talk heart to heart… Who and what distracted you from your Purpose?

It’s possible to be walking and not realize you are Distracted!!

That’s the strange part because we usually believe that if someone or  something else has our attention we would be aware.

You’re probably saying, I am still moving.  You’re right, but who wants mediocrity? You used to run with passion. You used to talk about your intentions all the time. You used to have zeal about accomplishing your plan. You used to dream about it. You used to think of different ways to make it or you better.

Possible Distractions
We can be our biggest distraction with  laziness, procrastination, time management, worry, doubt, no direction, fear, excuses, lost of zeal, social media, did I mention excuses? our past failures, rejection and the list continues.

Not All distractions are bad, but check the timing and the end result.

If it takes you off course, it’s still a distraction.

How to stay focused?

Beginning right now do a self check to see if you’re distracted, if so adjust your crown.

My Pastor did a sermon about a changed mind , changes your life.

It made me consider my life choices were dependent on what I was thinking about.

  • Be honest with yourself, what are you thinking about?
  • Does that thing have your full attention when you should be focused on something else?
  • Keep Moving Forward!

Philippians 3:12-16( MSG)

I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.

So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.

With Love,

Snooze Please

How many times have you pressed the snooze button?

Hey Ladies,

OMG, I’m late…

I hit  my snooze button on my alarm clock without ever opening my eyes.  I think I hit it multiple times within a course of an hour. Why did I hit the snooze button so many times this morning, so now I’m pressed for time. All my rushing, I’m not able to spend my much needed alone time with God, I can’t do my morning workout, I can’t make breakfast  and I run into rush hour traffic.

According to Webster-

Snooze- nap or something boring or uninspiring

Snooze Button- a button on an alarm clock that stops and resets the alarm for a short time later to allow for more rest

Now, if this was the only time this  happened I wouldn’t be so disappointed in myself. I’ve pressed the snooze button on my life too many times to count.  I was snoozing when I should have been working. I was snoozing when I should have been planning. I was snoozing when I should have been cleaning. I was snoozing when I should have been praying. I was snoozing when I should have been  living life.  The funny part about snoozing is you don’t realize the amount of time is passing.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the rest that was given to me by pressing snooze.

However, when I woke up I had to deal with the consequences of all that extra snoozing. I had to make some decisions in my life. Would I stay on the same course of snoozing through life because of fear, disappointment, laziness,  or would I allow my self to overcome myself?

Here’s your challenge- Ask your self- why are you snoozing on your dreams, responsibilities, relationships and your purpose. Take a look at what the bible says to us lazy folks. Yes, I had to admit it.   I was lazy.

Proverbs 6:6-11

Go to the ant, O lazy one;
Observe her ways and be wise,

Which, having no chief,
Overseer or ruler,

She prepares her food in the summer
And brings in her provisions [of food for the winter] in the harvest.

How long will you lie down, O lazy one?
When will you arise from your sleep [and learn self-discipline]?
10
“Yet a little sleep, a little slumber,
A little folding of the hands to lie down and rest”—
11
So your poverty will come like an approaching prowler who walks [slowly, but surely]
And your need [will come] like an armed man [making you helpless].

My pastor have these sayings-

  • Don’t Assume-  ( If you don’t know ask)
  • Complete The Task-( Be a finisher)
  • Follow Through- ( Keep your word)

Everyday you must make a decision  to show up for your life. Don’t snooze through life because of  laziness, difficulties, uncertainties or frustration. Live life on purpose, so no more snoozing please!
